CueMirror is a teleprompter app. It requires no account, does not sync data to the cloud, and shows no ads.
Data controller: Murillo Maciel, São Leopoldo, RS, Brazil (murillommaciel@gmail.com).
The scripts you create and the app settings (theme, colors, reading speed, and others) are stored in your device’s local storage. CueMirror has no servers and never sends the content of your scripts to us or to any third party. Some settings are included, in summarized form, in the usage data described under “Automatically collected data”, and only if sharing is turned on.
If system backup is turned on for your device (Google Backup on Android, iCloud on iOS), the operating system may include this data in your account’s backup. That backup is made and managed by Google or Apple, and we have no access to it. Uninstalling the app deletes the local data; when you reinstall, the system may restore it from that backup.
To identify crashes, understand how the app is used, and be able to remotely turn off a feature that malfunctions, CueMirror uses Google Firebase services:
Usage events may include:
These services associate the data with identifiers generated by Firebase for each app installation and, on iOS, with the identifier the system assigns to apps from the same developer (IDFV). They do not identify you by name, email, or account. CueMirror does not use the device’s advertising ID. Google uses the IP address of the request to estimate approximate location (country, region, and city) and then discards the full IP address. The app does not access GPS or request location permission.
The content of your scripts is never included in this data. This applies to text, titles, the names of imported files, and search terms.
The data is transmitted encrypted and handled by Google according to its own policy, and may be processed on servers outside your country, including in the United States:
We use this data only to fix bugs and improve the app, based on our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and improving its features (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f); Brazil’s LGPD, Art. 7, IX). We do not sell it and do not use it for advertising.
Sending this data is on by default. You can turn it off at any time under Settings → Privacy → Share usage and crash data. With the option off, the app stops sending usage events and crash reports. Your choice is saved on your device and stays in effect until you change it. The Firebase Remote Config check continues even with the option off, because it keeps the app working safely and sends no usage data.
CueMirror offers an optional Premium plan as a subscription (monthly or yearly). Payment is processed entirely by the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store: CueMirror has no access to payment data, requires no account, and does not operate its own servers.
To know whether you have an active subscription, the app queries the store on your device (for example, when the app opens and under Settings → Purchase → Restore purchase). The result is stored only in your device’s local storage so the app works offline. We do not receive your name, email, or store account identifier.
Google Analytics for Firebase records purchase events (product, price, and currency) and the progress of a purchase in the app (the plan chosen and whether the purchase was left pending, canceled, or failed), without any payment data. Cancellation, plan changes, and refunds are handled in the store. See also the Terms of Use.
CueMirror does not request camera, microphone, location, or contacts permission. To import a script, the app opens the system file picker and reads only the file you choose. Voice dictation uses your device’s keyboard; the app does not record or receive audio. Dictation audio is handled by your keyboard’s provider (for example, Google or Apple) under its own policy.
The technical data collected is not linked to any account, name, or email, so we cannot identify which data belongs to you. Crash reports are automatically deleted within 90 days, and individual usage events within 2 months. Google may keep aggregated reports that do not identify installations. You can object to this collection at any time by turning off the option described in “How to turn off data collection”, or stop it entirely by uninstalling the app. For questions or to exercise other rights under applicable data protection laws (such as the LGPD or GDPR), contact us at the email below.
CueMirror is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from them.
This policy may be updated as the app gains new features. The current version will always be available on this page.
